FEEL HISTORY – EXPERIENCE TRADITION

Feel History, Experience Tradition
The castle consists of wonderfully maintained stately and majestic living quarters which can be visited. There you can find an extensive collection of weapons and equipment from the 15th to the 18th century, in addition to a Falconry Museum. The castle complex is surrounded by an impressive tournament courtyard and adjoining pleasure and promenade gardens, which give an excellent insight into the garden architecture of the Renaissance era. As one of the few Renaissance castles, Rosenburg still has a fully operational Renaissance Falconry Courtyard which is part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. This tradition can be experienced first-hand at Rosenburg. As part of the Bird of Prey Demonstrations, and the rarely shown Falconry on Horseback, the ancient art of falconry is brought closer to the visitors.

Rosenburg Castle is well-known for its varied themed events which take place during the season. Whether it is the Garden Days and Rose Days, or the Christmas Market with its festive atmosphere, they all include its many artisans and regional culinary delicacies. For all medieval fans, we host Historical Castle Activities and a Knights’ Tournament.

Meeting Point for the Best Waldviertel (Forest Region) Hospitality
The Schlossgasthof (Castle Inn) offers a variety of culinary delights made with regional ingredients. The Knight’s Banquets are particularly popular and are regularly held in the Vaulted Hall.
